2014 From a spare bedroom desk...
NAC is founded by Adrian and Amanda Welke, from a spare bedroom in Wakefield.
NAC is a family-run business based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. We repair out-of-warranty washing machines, dryers, ovens, fridge freezers and more in homes across England, Scotland and Wales, through a nationwide network of experienced, vetted engineers. Repair first, no upsell, with a price agreed before any work begins.
Every appliance we fix is one that does not go to landfill and one fewer that needs manufacturing. Repair-first is not just cheaper for households, it is the responsible default, and it has been our model since day one. If a repair genuinely is not worth it, we will tell you straight rather than sell you a fix you do not need.
Adrian and Amanda Welke founded NAC in 2014 from a spare bedroom in Wakefield, with one aim: build a national brand focused solely on direct, out-of-warranty appliance repair, not retail, not sales, not tie-in contracts.
Twelve years on, we are the largest independent provider of out-of-warranty repairs in the UK, with a nationwide network of experienced engineers and our own City & Guilds Assured training centre.
Customers use us because they choose to, not because they are locked into a warranty or service plan. That independence shapes how we work: fix the appliance, tell you the price up front, and stand behind the repair.
It also means we put everything back into what matters: better-trained engineers and a UK booking team that picks up the phone.
We repair the appliances households rely on, in the home, at a fixed price, across every major brand.
We are technicians, not salespeople. Our job is to fix your appliance, not talk you into a new one.
The price is agreed before any work starts. No hourly meters, no surprises on the bill.
Bosch, Beko, Samsung, Hotpoint, Miele and more, our engineers cover the full multi-brand range.
Every repair is guaranteed in writing, by an employed or vetted service-partner engineer.
Our Wakefield training centre earned City & Guilds Assured status in 2022. It is where we develop our own engineers to a multi-brand standard, and where British Gas sends its nationwide engineers to be trained by us. Every engineer, whether employed by NAC or one of our vetted service partners, is held to the same rigorous standard before they ever set foot in a customer's home.

Honest and quick. Quoted me £140 over the phone for a new fan motor, charged me £140 on the day. No upselling, no hidden bits. Refreshing.
American-style fridge stopped cooling on a Friday evening. NAC fit me in the next morning and had it running again by lunchtime. The engineer talked me through what had gone wrong and didn't try to flog me a part I didn't need.

Wouldn't drain and the kitchen smelled awful. The engineer found a blocked pump, cleared it and checked the seals while he was at it. Friendly, tidy and no pushy upselling.
Coffee machine kept tripping the electrics. Diagnosed a faulty board, ordered the part and came back two days later to fit it. Only knocked a star for the wait, but they kept me updated the whole way.
