How To Replace An Oven Or Cooker Door Seal

In this article, we’re going to explain how to change an oven door seal.

I would consider this task to fall within most people’s skill set and therefore it is worth having a go at completing this yourself.

To change an oven door seal, follow the steps below.

Step 1

The door seal is typically made from a temperature-resistant silicone, or rubber, with a hook located in each corner.

Note that there is also a visible join in the seal indicating where two sections have been joined together.

It is recommended that the join in the seal is placed at the bottom of the door. As heat rises, there is the possibility that the join could break. If this occurs whilst placed at the bottom then it will cause less of a problem than if it is at the top.

Step 2

Insert the hooks, one by one, into the corresponding holes in each corner of the oven door.

There will be some tension in the seal when doing this. Although this method is similar across most brands, if you need any further assistance then you can book an engineer visit quickly and easily by following the Book A Repair button on our website.
