Ne alam light on my fridge/freezer ( the freezer part ) came on.
The freezer cooling system wasn’t working.
Fortunately, I had some already frozen freezer blocks so I was able to put the freezer contents plus the freezer blocks into some chiller bags whilst I defrosted the freezer.
As it had been defrosted only 3 months previously, there wasn’t much ice to clear.
I contacted NAC who said they would send an engineer on Ha Nov 28th to check out the freezer.
However, once the freezer had been defrosted, I decided to switch it on again ( the fridge and freezer have separate controls-they operate independently of each other ).
The freezer started working again!!
I switched it off again.
I didn’t cancel the booking as I wanted the engineer-Andrew-to see if there was an inherent fault with the freezer.
Andrew visited well within the stipulated call out time slot on Thursday November 28th.
He was very thorough and helpful but there was no explanation for why the freezer acted up.
No fault attributed to Andrew for this.
My fridge/freezer was purchased in July 1985 and after Andrew had left, I switched the freezer back on again and it has been working satisfactorily since.
I restocked the freezer once it had cooled to minus 18 deg C.
Maybe the freezer was having a ‘senior moment’!!
I recommend NAC very highly for their quality of work and the pleasant demeanour of Andrew, their engineer.

I have a Rangemaster induction hob that had a mind of its own. The engineer knew what was wrong, liased with the manufacturer, ordered manufacturer parts and came back to install. All working fine now.

He did a super job of fixing the washing line, his explanation was top notch I would definitely use this company again.
