Current vacancies at NAC are listed below. We are currently recruiting both experienced / time served and trainee Field Service Engineers.
Experienced / Time Served: What you can expect at NAC…
Being a true multi-brand repair business, working at NAC, is tough. We absolutely want to be upfront here so there’s no beating around the bush, the bar is set high and you will be expected to be good at the job, or at the very least you will need to have a desire to be good at the job.
However… In return, we offer industry leading pay, £32K PA for Monday – Friday working that is not target or overtime driven, and that’s not just for Gas Engineers! We offer industry leading training and we will invest heavily in your development by training and supporting you where needed, so that you can become the best that you can be in the multi-brand repair environment. Our fleet of vans are new or almost new, fully branded and we are a very technology driven business utilising iPhones and Workplace apps to make sure that even though you might be working remotely, you are never alone.
Overtime is usually always available – but not compulsory. We offer 20 days holiday rising to 25 days with service plus bank holidays and we have twice yearly Toolbox Talks where we all get together at Wakefield for a face to face meeting, training and social reasons – Hotels, food and drinks are completely on us!
Mentoring – As a fully experienced engineer at NAC, you can be more than just an engineer! You will be able to put yourself forward as a mentor to assist with trainee development both over the phone, and by having a trainee out with you for a number of weeks (on a reduced allocation of course) either as a one off or on an ad-hoc, continual basis. Mentor Engineers will usually share the same or neighbouring areas with a partnered trainee so we maintain that relationship continuity.
Trainee Domestic Appliance Engineer: What you can expect at NAC…
As a trainee domestic appliance engineer, you will be joining the largest independent nationwide appliance repair business in the UK. We employ full time engineers throughout the UK as well as work with hundreds of self employed engineers to assist with our volume of work nationally.
When you join NAC, you will be given our industry leading training, starting from scratch, learning about each different appliance type, faults, components, testing procedures and repair processes. After completing an initial 2 week period at our training centre at Wakefield, you will spend at least 4 weeks with one of our mentor engineers, on the road, getting some hands on experience. After that, it’s all about slowly easing you in to your area, on a heavily reduced diary allocation and under strict supervision so you can start your solo progression.
Although in an ideal world, you would have some classroom time, then some field practice and away you go, in reality, your training will last between 6-12 months and progression is different with each and every person so that part, is completely down to you.
