Correctly Adjusting The Fridge Temperature

In this article, we’re going to talk about adjusting the temperature for your fridge freezer.

With appliances that have a digital display, the temperature is usually shown in ℃ and is therefore very clear.

However, I am going to focus on temperature controls that are located inside the fridge as these can often work differently than expected.

It is important to be aware that the digits on a temperature control dial located inside a fridge do not indicate temperature in ℃ . They are actually a grading scale of temperature from minimum to maximum with ‘1’ being the warmest setting and ‘6’ being the coldest. On some fridges, this is made clear by the words ‘Min’ and ‘Max’ at opposite ends of the dial.

In order to find the correct setting for your fridge, it is recommended to initially set the dial to ‘3’. This is considered a standard setting for most fridges.

Monitor the temperature for a few days and if you find it is too cold, turn the temperature down and if it is too cold, turn it up. This can be a case of trial and error over time to reach the correct temperature.

I hope you have found this article helpful, however if you are still experiencing difficulties in getting the correct temperature then it is possible there may be a fault with the appliance.
