On the 14th December 2023 my Britannia built under oven stopped working. NAC Engineer booked for earliest date available.
27th Dec. Engineer arrives. Assesses problem, orders parts: 1 roof element, 1 selector switch, two door hinges.
15th Jan 2024. Engineer returns to fit parts. Wrong switch and element. Right hinges.
24th January. Engineer returns and fits correct parts. Orders some cosmetic parts and new bulbs. All turn out to be unavailable.
Total time: 41days
Total cost £475.77 inc parts and callout.
plus £328.95 for a countertop oven to see us through.
So… Yes, five stars for fixing the oven. However in terms of the whole experience a little misleading. Yes, it was in part a repair over Christmas and New Year and Yes, NAC’s suppliers let them down. Yes the oven is around 24yrs old. Yes, service firms like NAC are dependant on other factors beyond their control to be able to deliver their service promises. One good thing: the callout fee covers the initial assessment then subsequent fitting. Also if the parts are wrongly supplied another visit to fit the correct ones is also covered.
