We're striving to be the best...

We’re investing heavily in training and development so that we can become the most recognised brand to the consumer when an out-of-warranty repair is needed. In the past 2 years, we have invested in our very own Training Centre that is both City & Guilds and CPD Accredited. We have developed a fully comprehensive online training portal aimed at the multi-brand engineer and have doubled our workforce – And this is just the start!

Benefits and Development...

You are joining a great, fresh, rapidly growing team and a business that’s offering industry leading pay, £32 – £35k pa without having to do overtime or sell products. You do not even have to be gas qualified to enjoy this level of salary!

We offer industry leading training and we will invest heavily in your development by training and supporting you where needed, so that you can become the best that you can be in the multi-brand repair environment. Our fleet of vans are new or almost new, fully branded and we are a very technology driven business utilising iPhones and Workplace apps to make sure that even though you might be working remotely, you are never alone – ever.

The difference between working for NAC and a Manufacturer…

You may assume that an appliance engineer, is an appliance engineer however we have found out over the last 7 years that this industry is certainly not, a one cap fits all game.

If you are considering applying for a position at NAC, we want you to know, in advance, that NAC service is a million miles apart from Manufacturer service. The main differences are as follows:

  • We are true ‘Multi-Brand’. We repair almost any domestic brand from Beko to Miele! This means that your skills are going to benefit from some serious rocket fuel by working with us at NAC as each job will be very different. We are most certainly not ‘eat-sleep-repeat’ here!
  • We have to go where the work is – We are an on-demand service, completely independent and reliant on customers who have complete freedom over who they use, to choose us to do their repairs. This means that with NAC, you may cover a larger area than you would at manufacturers, but all in all, time balances out.
  • You will not have to manage heaps of van stock. All of our vans are equipped with the basics… Generic pumps, elements, door catches etc… Stuff that can cross many different brands. Because we repair almost all brands, it’s impossible for us to carry lots of stock.
  • We are not focussed on first time fixes! Yep – You read that correctly. Our customers are paying customers so we do not have the freedom to be able to pre-diagnose or ‘blanket order’ whether before visiting or on the first visit to repair an appliance. We train, develop and nurture fault finding so we can identify any faulty component correctly. This means that in most cases, we much prefer a thorough first visit diagnosis so we can complete the repair on the second visit, without it recalling at a later date.
  • Your future possibilities are increased tenfold by spending a few years (or more hopefully) with us. Some of our best engineers are a mixture of complete trainees (never had any experience) and quite lowly skilled manufacturer engineers that only ever swapped parts on appliances, day in, day out to get a first time fix. With NAC, you will be taught and guided on testing components and fault finding using test meters so our customers are not being asked to pay for parts that they may not need. With this responsibility, if you have ideas of being self employed one day in the future, there’s no better platform to go from than here at NAC.

In a nutshell, working at NAC is fantastic for those that enjoy what they do, want to be good at what they do and have a vision of being self employed at some point in their careers.

We have an excellent reputation...

Our reputation is everything to us. We strive for excellence and our Trustpilot rated 4.7 score along with the excellent customer feedback on the Trustpilot platform is testament to our commitment to doing the job properly and in the right way. If you have a desire to one day become self-employed, then working at NAC would catapult you in to that territory for the future by helping you develop your skills while gaining and maintaining a high level of confidence in your abilities, which are two core things that you absolutely need to make a success of being self employed.

We all enjoy some time off...

We offer 28 days holiday including bank holidays rising to 33 days with service and we have twice yearly toolbox talks where we all get together at Wakefield for a face to face meeting, training and social reasons – Hotels, food and drinks are completely on us!

We also randomly give away free days off as incentives and we reward hard work with free, extra time off – A half a day here, a full day there…

Mentoring - Share your skills...

As a fully experienced engineer at NAC, you can be more than just an engineer! You will be able to put yourself forward as a mentor to assist with trainee development both over the phone, and by having a trainee out with you for a number of weeks (on a reduced allocation of course) either as a one off or on an ad-hoc, continual basis. Mentor Engineers will usually share the same or neighbouring areas with a partnered trainee so we maintain that relationship continuity.

Trainee Engineers - Read more here...

As a trainee domestic appliance engineer, you will be joining the largest independent nationwide appliance repair business in the UK. We employ full time engineers throughout the UK as well as work with hundreds of self employed engineers to assist with our volume of work nationally.

When you join NAC, you will be given our industry leading training, starting from scratch, learning about each different appliance type, faults, components, testing procedures and repair processes. After completing an initial 2 week period at our training centre at Wakefield, you will spend at least 4 weeks with one of our mentor engineers, on the road, getting some hands on experience. After that, it’s all about slowly easing you in to your area, on a heavily reduced diary allocation and under strict supervision so you can start your solo progression.

Although in an ideal world, you would have some classroom time, then some field practice and away you go, in reality, your training will last between 6-12 months and progression is different with each and every person so that part, is completely down to you.
